In 1987 our founder Montana Whitlock started her career in estate agency as a Trainee Negotiator for a large corporate company in her hometown of Bognor Regis.
Montana quickly discovered her passion for the property industry, she was very popular amongst clients and was regularly praised for her caring, kind, and supportive nature.
Overtime - she realised that her employer’s beliefs over customer service and transparent commission fees did not match her own, she felt frustrated with their approach which focussed on targets and money rather than people and service.
She knew her clients deserved better and dreamed of creating her own independent family run company, offering the local community a professional and personal service with true values of integrity and honesty whilst also providing fees that were fair and affordable.
Through her hard work and determination, in 1993 Montana’s dream became a reality and Whitlocks Estate Agents was established!
We opened our first office on Bognor Regis high street and Montana’s inspiring and creative, new approach was a huge hit from the off!
Whitlock’s quickly became the most popular agent in the area, not just for their quick turnarounds but because their clients felt important, looked after, and appreciated. Montana was finally providing a service she felt proud of, and it felt fantastic!
Our company grew from strength to strength and over the years, we have built a reputation based on recommendations and repeat business. We believe our success is because we genuinely care about our clients and always have their best interests at heart.
In 2005, we moved to our current location which is in the heart of Nyetimber Village and within close proximity to Montana’s family home where she brought up her daughter Natasha as a single mother whilst also trying to juggle a growing new business.
Even from a young age Natasha has tried to help her hardworking mum and was regularly found keeping clients’ children entertained in the office whilst they registered and searched for properties.
Natasha also used to staple the details, lick the envelopes, and help with hand deliveries; Montana drove to the properties and Natasha would jump out of the car and post the letters – they were quite the team! When Natasha was old enough, she had a Saturday job answering the phone and arranging viewings.
In 2009 Natasha joined the company fulltime as a Trainee Negotiator with a desire to make a difference, just like Montana did all those years ago.
Fast forward to today, Natasha has taken over from Montana and with her modern perspective yet traditional values the company has achieved record breaking sales and is recognised as the leading independent and top selling Agent in Bognor Regis.
In addition to Montana and Natasha, we have a remarkable team of passionate and enthusiastic highly skilled women, who together we call ‘The Whitlocks Family’.
It has always been very important for Montana and Natasha to find like minded individuals to be a part of our company, who share our ethos as well our aspirations and dedication we show our clients.
